Excellent property

We were delighted with this villa. It is very spacious, with a lovely shaded roof terrace with views over the town and a secluded private pool with sun & shade seating. Interiors are very high spec , and there is great high water pressure for the showers. The wifi is good throughout. We much appreciated the freestanding water cooler, so no need o lug water back from the supermarket. It is well located in a quiet area and around 5 mins walk down to Migros. It is quite possible to walk down into the old town (15-20 mins) , but taxis are easy to summon. The choices for roof-top dining in Kalkan are amazing. Highly recommended.

Stunning villa in the perfect location within Kalkan.

The most beautiful and well kept villa. I’ve stayed in another place in Kalkan before but nothing compares to Villa Zarif. It’s the perfect distance from the buzz of town - a short walk away but far enough you can’t hear the music on a Saturday night! You can tell it’s very well looked after and cared for, with a stunning pool and outdoor seating area, BBQ and sun loungers as well as gorgeous balconies and an incredible roof terrace with stunning views over the rest of the town. It’s the perfect balance of homely but also with plenty of space to put your own belongings. There was a lovely welcome pack of essentials when we arrived and detailed information and recommendations - all of which were fab! A wonderful holiday all round - thank you so much Dave and Jo!

Villa Zarif - A Fabulous Find!

A big thank you to Dave and Jo for a wonderful and stress free stay in Villa Zarif Kalkan. Almost three weeks holiday in October and could have easily stayed for longer! We have stayed in many villas over our fifteen years of visiting Kalkan and Villa Zarif is one of the few that we would definitely choose to return to ⭐️ Location was perfect for us. A steady ten minute walk down to Kalkan and a very doable walk back. Didn’t get a taxi once and enjoyed the return walk to burn off some calories. Spent so much time in the lovely pool and what a difference pool heating makes! Not a chore at all to get in but an absolute pleasure and now definitely a must for our future holidays! Comfy sunbeds, steps into the pool, relaxing shaded seating area and not overlooked by neighbours. All positives for us which made a big difference. Also liked the pool being on the same floor as the kitchen/living room area. Plenty of hot water, spacious showers and comfy beds. Great welcome pack on arrival to see us through till next day and water cooler which was replenished by a quick WhatsApp when needed. Supermarket and greengrocer only a few minutes walk away. Our time at Villa Zarif flew by, every minute has special memories and we would love to return ❤️🇹🇷

Amazing Villa in a great location

Amazing Holiday this year at Villa Zarif. Pool was fantastic had the sun all day lots of sun beds and pool towels nice seating and table area in the shade. Gardens to the front lovely and we had a lucky visit from “Michelle” the Tortoise. The whole villa was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic roof top terrace for the evening G&T before the walk down the hill into Kalkan old town. Don’t worry about the hill back home taxis are great and only a couple of pounds. Defo will be booking for 2024. Regards. Ian, Sandra & Nigel

Wonderfully comfortable villa in Kalkan

Have just returned from a 16 night stay at Villa Zarif in Kalkan. This was our second visit to Kalkan and was postponed by 12 months due to COVID. The hosts, Dave and Jo, were incredibly flexible and accommodating. When it became apparent that our original trip was at risk because of lock-down, Jo helpfully agreed to our delaying our holiday by 12 months and sorted out the mechanics of our booking with TripAdvisor so that we didn’t lose our deposit. When I re-arranged our flights, I managed to mess up the times which meant that we would be hanging around for an extra day. Again Jo was incredibly flexible and helpful, allowing us to have a late checkout at no extra cost. The villa is really comfortable and has everything that you need. It is beautifully furnished like a home from home and it is quite evident that it is a labour of love for our hosts. Location-wise, you couldn’t really get anywhere better as it is only a ten minute walk into Kalkan proper and the nearest supermarket is just yards away. The pool area was probably the highlight for us and was certainly where we spent most of our time. The beds are really comfortable and there are some heavy duty parasols of the sunshine gets too much for you. The pool itself is just wonderful and has steps, rather than a ladder, which allows for a gradual acclimatisation! The whole area is cleaned daily by a pool man, but we only got to see him once when we took an early morning excursion. In summary, a fantastic villa with superb hosts. Couldn’t be bettered.

Beautiful Villa and perfectly positioned

We have just returned from staying at Villa Zarif and wow what a wonderful place to be. The villa itself is perfect, the outside area is where we lived and the seating just outside next to the pool is so comfortable, we are dinner and chilled there under the umbrella out of the sun when needed. The pool is so clean and is a great size for all the family to be in and swimming/chilling on inflatables. Inside, the villa is perfect for a family, open plan kitchen right next to the lounge. There are 3 bedrooms of great size and all en-suite, air conditioning throughout and also balconies in the upstairs 2 bedrooms. The roof terrace was where we spent every late evening when returning from Kalkan centre after having dinner. Take a drink up to the roof terrace and enjoy the stunning views at any time of day, so relaxing 👍 Position wise it's also great, short walk to the supermarket (2 minutes to local one and only 5 to the large migros) and the Thursday market is also just a short walk. We hired a scooter to get about as no need for a car but taxis are easily accessible and cheap. A fantastic holiday thanks to a great Villa, makes all the difference to a holiday. Thank you David & Jo for letting us stay there, we'll be back.

Wonderful Villa

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Zarif. The villa has everything you need for a fantastic holiday in Kalkan. The pool and the roof terrace are great places to while away the sunny days. The location of the villa is also ideal, a ten minute walk to Kalkan centre and only a few minutes walk from a butchers, green grocers and two supermarkets. Highly recommend.

A lovely villa

We stayed in June and were sad to leave. Everything was provided for a relaxing holiday. The pool was sparkling clean with comfy sunbeds, parasols, and a shaded dining area. The decor was smart and up to date. The villa is very maintained. We loved sitting on the roof terrace at night for the views of the nearby hills all lit up by villas. During the day we enjoyed the view of Kalkan Bay. The villa is really near to a lovely shop which sells, meat, bread and lots of different things including fabulous trays of mezes. We enjoyed barbecues and lunches made from the shop purchases. Next door to that, a family greengrocer. The owners Jo and David, and management agents were very helpful at all times. Lastly, a tortoise came to visit us in the front garden every morning at 10 o' clock and was extremely partial to lettuce and cucumber. We wished that we had booked for a few days longer!

Lovely relaxing stay in a villa that wanted for nothing.

Arrived at villa late at night. Welcome pack, water and wine left for us, which was great to set us up for the next morning. Great location, close to the weekly market and bus station. Spoilt for choice with sunbeds, comfy patio seating area and roof top terrace to choose from. Made good use of the BBQ, buying our meat and salad from the butchers and greengrocers only literally a minute away. Short walk to town, all downhill. Choice of supermarkets nearby to stock up on. Felt so relaxed on the sunbeds around the lovely pool. Didn't want to leave and we will certainly be back. Thanks.

Wonderful stay

My husband and I stayed in villa Zarif for a week in October. We loved it! It has a superb roof top terrace where you have 360 degree views of beautiful Kalkan. The pool is super with luxury beds and towels and a lovely table to eat at. Inside there’s everything you need provided. Beds are extremely comfy with good bathrooms and large fluffy towels provided. All the upstairs bedrooms have super terraces with tables and a couple of chairs to sit out and enjoy the views. Kalkan itself is a ten minute walk away with lots of fantastic restaurants. Highly recommend and will be going back!

A fab stay in a lovely villa

The weather was brill with lovely sunshine everyday. This meant we could enjoy relaxing around the lovely pool on very comfy sunbeds and with personalised towels for the villa. The villa wanted for nothing and bed was very comfy. Roof top terrace was great with great views and relaxing seating which we made the most of before going out for tea and on our return. Will definitely making another booking for next year. Thanks.

Villa Zarif, Kalkan

Stayed in this villa in September. It has excellent facilities over three floors, including a roof terrace when you can enjoy the views and a good size pool with all day sunshine. The villa is close to shops and bars/restaurants, but also not a long walk from the very popular old town.

Traditional villa with lovely pool and amazing roof terrace

Villa Zarif sleeps up to 8 comfortably in 3 spacious air conditioned bedrooms and a loft room with sofa bed. It is located on a quiet lane with views of the sea and mountains from the roof terrace. The swimming pool is larger than most and was great for lying on a lilo. It has easy access steps that we appreciated at our age. The size and layout of the Villa makes it ideal for larger, extended families or two families/ couples sharing. The Villa benefited from modern open plan living space, with doors opening out on to the pool and terrace areas. All the bedrooms are ensuite. Two king sized bedrooms, each with its own balcony overlooking the pool and a twin bedded room on the ground floor. The roof terrace was our favourite space with its luxurious sofas enjoys spectacular views and is equipped with a pergola offering shade and privacy. Perfect place for a g&t. The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. A convenience store is less than a 2-minute stroll down the lane with butchers and green grocers. The large migros supermarket (3 mins away) for all our essential provisions including most importantly fresh bread, beer and wine! Plus schweppes tonic water. The Villa is only a gentle walk down to the old town approx 10 mins. The nearest bar is the Junction and is about 5 minutes away, we loved it here for the live music twice a week. We normally taxied back from the Old town in the evening as it was very hot, Cost £2-3 in a taxi. Staying at Villa zarif benefits from a quiet residential area but with a central location in Kalkan and easy access to the old town but without the hussle and bustle. Feedback Advertisement

What a great find

We stayed here in July as a family of 5. The Villa is in a lovely quiet location but within easy walking distance of the Old town. The Villa is well equipped and comfy beds. We loved the outside area by the pool and gardens. The roof terrace has great views and is lovely to sit out and enjoy a drink in the evening. We used the local supermarket that is 2 mins away to stock up on food and drink. The pool is a really good size and the kids loved it. It ticked all the boxes.

Comfortable villa with great views

Spent the last week in September at this villa in Kalkan. Very comfortable and spacious villa. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, lovely big towels and a washer. We used the bus from Fethiye to Kalkan and a shuttle transfer back to Dalaman, easy and economical. The villa is close to the bus station. Roof terrace with fab views night or day. Pool was great to have as it was very hot still. We managed with the ceiling fan at night but a/c was available. Plenty shops and restaurants nearby. The climb back to the villa is very steep but taxis are abundant and cheap, about £1.60 at the moment. Kalkan itself is pictuesque and has lots of pretty streets full of shops and eateries.

Lovely villa in a perfect location. Amazing roof top terrace!

This was our first stay in Villa Zarif and to Kalkan. We were not disappointed. We were met at the airport by Burhan, who drove us to the villa (approx 50 mins). He is a local guy who knows everyone. He’s very helpful and will attend to any problem you may encounter, very knowledgeable about Kalkan and surrounding areas. He can arrange day trips for you and will also be your driver. We arrived at the villa late at night and the fridge was stocked with some basic groceries which was a nice touch! The villa is lovely, with beautiful views over Kalkan, the sea and the mountains, well equipped and in a lovely relaxing location close to amenities. There are supermarkets, cashpoints, cafes, restaurants and bars all close by. There is a little charming family restaurant next door where you can order food to be delivered to the villa if you wish. Julie and Richard, the owners of Villa Zarif have thought of everything to suit a variety of visitors. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with and extremely helpful. There is a steep hill from Kalkan old town back to the villa. You can get a taxi very cheaply but we decided to walk it at the end of our evening every night of our 10 night stay, rewarded by a very welcoming dip in the lovely villa pool. The villa also has a fabulous roof top terrace which we used to go to each evening to enjoy a gin & tonic whilst watching the sun go down....beautiful views! Kalkan has an unbelievable array of fantastic restaurants. I’ve never visited anywhere before that has such a high volume of restaurants with such a high standard of food. Gorgeous meals every night of our stay. We got Burhan to take us to Saklikent Gorge....wow! Just stunning. We had lunch on the river then walked through the gorge. You can hire rafts which looked great fun but we ran out of time as we’d been to the tombs and to the national park beforehand. Also recommended. We also booked a boat trip with Burhan......definitely another must on the list. If you like dogs, Kalkan has plenty and they were all lovely and friendly and seem to be taken care of by a local charity. We had our favourites during our stay! 😊 There’s no doubt that we’d return to Villa Zarif again.....maybe with our extended family next time as there is certainly enough room. Beautiful. Thank you Julie and Richard for making our stay so comfortable and relaxing xx

The Perfect Villa!

Villa Zarif is an absolute gem! If you are looking for a spacious villa with its own private (& secluded) pool with everything you need for a self catering holiday - then look no further! The rooms are beautifully decorated & the villa has a light & airy feel, with aircon to keep you cool after a hot day in the sun. The roof terrace is the cherry on the top, with beautiful views across the mountains & beyond - we found it perfect for a pre-dinner G&T! The location of the villa is ideal - a short stroll from the town but far enough away to be quiet at night. Kalkan itself is a fascinating old fishing village - full of tiny winding streets full of little shops, restaurants & bars. If you went for a fortnight you could still easily choose somewhere different to eat every night! All in all, Villa Zaria is an absolute winner. Great value for great space & great facilities in a great location.

Fabulous villa and pool in a great location

We have just come back from our first trip to Kalkan, and we absolutely loved every aspect of it. We had heard so much about it from others who have been, and now we understand its magic. Villa Zarif is just perfect for a relaxing holiday. There is plenty of space (the master suite is especially generous), and each bedroom having an en-suite makes it very easy for sharing. Our party was a family of 3 plus a family of 4, and there was ample space for us all. The villa is really well located. The restaurant next door is run by a very friendly couple, and there is no noise from them at all. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and the meze plates just kept coming! There is a small supermarket just 2 minutes away for bread and milk etc, and others for your beer and wine are just a few minutes further down the hill. It’s only a 10 minute walk down to the heart of Kalkan and its plethora of restaurants and shops, and a taxi back to the villa is under £4. It was exceptionally hot while we were there, but the air con was very efficient and cooled the rooms down very quickly. The well maintained pool area has sunbeds, umbrellas etc, and the pool was tended to regularly during our stay. The roof terrace is a real benefit – perfect for a pre-dinner drink, looking out at the view over the town and bay. Julie has thought of everything, providing every last little thing you need such as beach bags, a cool bag and ice blocks, hair dryers and adapters, and having bread, milk etc on arrival was a real bonus. Burhan, Julie’s man on the ground is an absolute gem. As well as airport transfers, he will organise any trips for you, and accompany you as appropriate. He organised a wonderful private boat trip for us from Kekova, and he also took us to the Saklikent gorge which is well worth a visit (and the rafting is a must). We visited the beautiful Patara beach, and also used the beach clubs (Kalamar was our favourite, and we loved the fact that they send a taxi to collect you from the villa), but the villa is so tranquil, we spent several days just lounging by the pool. We certainly aim to return to Villa Zarif!

Great villa, good location - excellent pool

We loved our stay in villa Zarif. The villa was equipped with everything needed for a relaxing break. All rooms had air con. The bedrooms were all en suite with spacious showers and lovely large fluffy towels. The (steepish) walk to Kalkan only takes about 10 mins and the local taxis bring you back for under £1 per person. There are lots of good restaurants in Kalkan and some great cocktail bars. If you like ancient sites there are a number of Lycian cities within an hour of Kalkan so it makes a great base. Also, not to be missed, is the Saklikent gorge - great for cooling down in the hot Turkish summer.

Turkish delight!

Myself and my husband stayed at Villa Zarif in September after finding it listed on the internet. From the minute we got in touch, Julie couldn't have been more helpful - answering all our many questions and assisting us with organising car hire etc. The villa is in a great location on the hillside in Kalkan, about 10-15 mins walk from town but close to local shops including a supermarket. It is a spacious villa with good air conditioning which is really needed in the summer months! Everything we needed was there including hairdryers, ironing board, BBQ and even a selection of books - which was really convenient as far as not having to take too much with us. The pool area is wonderful with plenty of sunloungers and a table/chairs so you can sit and eat outside. The real piece de la resistance though is the roof terrace which has a great view over Kalkan and was a lovely place to sit and have a few pre dinner drinks. This was our second visit to Kalkan. We hired a car this time and drove along to Kas which is also lovely, Kaputas beach and to Kekova. We love all the restaurants and could never have enough time to eat at them all! Our favourites this time were Doy Doy and Aubergine. We hope to go back to Kalkan again soon and would definitely hope to stay at Villa Zarif if Julie and Richard will allow us! ;-)

Stayed with friends last year and had a fantastic week. Very high standard of furnishings, love the fact you can order meze from the restaurant next door and have it delivered to the terrace. Very quiet out of season, and nothing is too much trouble for Burhan. Will definately return.

Fantastic!

Once again, our stay in Villa Zarif was absolutely wonderful. It truly is a place to chill out and enjoy the spectacular views from the roof top terrace. It takes some beating! As ever, Julie and Richard are friendly and accomodating and despite us being return customers, they obviously don't get complacent. If you want to enjoy your very own piece of paradise- then certainly give this villa a go.

Amazing!

We had a fantastic time in Kalkan and cannot wait to return! The villa was great and there was everything we needed in it! The information pack provided was so helpful and allowed us to settle straight in and just get on with our holiday without wondering where things were, how to work everything, etc. The pool was great and when at the villa we were hardly ever out of it! None of us can think of one way tthat the villa could be improved! We loved the roof top terrace and enjoyed our pre-dinner wine there as we waited for the younger female members of our party to get ready for the evening! Having an ensuite to each bedroom also meant that we were all able to get showered at the same time and not waste time. The person who oversaw the villa was hepful and the cleaners were very efficient mid stay and did a very thorough job. Everyone was so friendly! The only downside to our holiday was our arrival back in the UK and our return to work!! Thanks so much for renting us your beautiful villa! We really hope to return.

Meet all our needs for our extended family holiday

This was the first time we had booked a vila direct with the owners and would not hesitate to do it again as our experience was so good. The villa is approx 10-15min walk from the centre of Kalkan with all its restaurants and shops. It is a very hilly walk but taxis can be arranged easily and cost around £4 each way if the walk proves too difficult. The villa is well equipped, very clean and comfortable with a good pool which was very much enjoyed by our 3 young grandchildren. The owners were very helpful during the booking process and arranged the transfer from Dalaman airport with a local taxi driver who also looks after the villa and proved so helpful in organising and advising anything we needed. We had an excellent holiday in Villa Zarif and would not hesitate in recommending this villa for a wonderful holiday in wonderful Kalkan. This is really a 3 bedroom villa as the top bedroom/ playstation room which has a sofa bed does not have any air conditioning and in our opinion would be too hot to sleep in during the summer months. In all other aspects the villa met all our needs and expectations.

Fantastic!

A fabulous holiday from start to finish. The owners were friendly and great to deal with. Burhan, the local chap, struck the right balance of being friendly and helpful without being too pushy. Kalkan is a delight with some wonderful restaurants and a variety of authentic shops to wander in and out of. The standard of the villa was as described and the photographs were a true reflection of the luxourious feel of the place. The pool area and gardens were well maintained and although there is a villa to the back and side of the property, they are situated in such a way that doesn't make you feel like you are overlooked. The roof terrace with it's panoramic views of both the mountains and the bay is the perfect place to relax with a good book and glass of wine. We'll definately be back!!
